Peyzaj mimarlığı hem dünyada hem de Türkiye’de geçtiğimiz 40-50 yıl içerisinde hızlanan kentleşmenin bir sonucu olarak önemi oldukça hızlı bir şekilde artan bir mesleki disiplin olmuştur. Türkiye’de peyzaj mimarisinin gelişimine en çok katkıda bulunan insanlardan biri ise Riccardo Disperati’dir. Bu araştırmada peyzaj mimarlığı disiplinin Türkiye özelinde doğuşu ve gelişimine katkıda bulunan etkenler, peyzaj mimarisinin günümüzdeki hali, öngörülebilir geleceği ve Riccardo Disperati’nin bu sürecin tamamına etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu incelemeyi yaparken Riccardo Disperati’yi yakından tanıyan peyzaj mimarı Selda İpek ve günümüz Türkiye’sinde peyzaj mimarisi için oldukça önemli bir insan olan Oktan Nalbantoğlu ile yapılan röportajlar ve bu konuda yazılmış olan haber, makale ve kanunlardan yararlanılmıştır. Bu kaynaklara ek olarak Riccardo Disperati'nin kendisiyle de röportaj yapmak için sözleşilmiş olsa da bu senenin kasım ayında vefat etmiş olması sebebiyle bu mümkün olmamıştır.

Over the past 30 – 40 years, as a result of the accelerating urbanization, the importance of landscape architecture as a field of work has increased dramatically in both Turkey and the world. Riccardo Disperati is one of the people that contributed the most to the development of landscape architecture in Turkey. In this study; the factor affecting the birth and development of landscape architecture in Turkey, Riccardo Disperati’s influence on this process and the current state and possible future of landscape architecture in Turkey was researched. For the research; the interviews with Selda İpek, a landscape architect who was close with Riccardo Disperati, and Oktan Nalbantoğlu, one of the most important people for landscape architecture in Turkey, and other articles and laws about the topic were used. An interview with Riccardo Disperati himself was also arranged but it could not be made because of his unfortunate death this november.
