Daniel Bliss, ABCFM'de çalışan ve Beyrut Lübnan'daki Suriye Protestan Kolej'in kurucusu olan Amerikalı bir misyonerdi. Daniel Bliss was an American missionary working in ABCFM and the founder of the Syrian Protestant College in Beirut Lebanon. In the early years of the college, he contributed significantly to the establishment and management of the college. Despite his significant contribution to the local population through the construction of the college, his main motives lied with the spread of the message of Christianity. In the face of his religious beliefs, he was in favor of a secular school where everyone from different backgrounds could study. Due to this mentality, his interaction with students was different from how the students were treated in other missionary schools which is the reason why the university became a globally well-known academic institution.
