Abstract

In this paper, the effects of Karagöz, ortaoyunu, and meddah-like narration are displayed in Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpinar's novel, that is called Efsuncu Baba. The parallelism between the novel in question and the traditional theater is explored mainly in five parts: The narrator, characters, subject-matter, structure and language.
