Yeraltı Edebiyatı genel özellikleriyle kendini toplumsal iktidarın merkezlerinin dışında, ortalama olanher şeye karşı bir duruşla ve bunun ötesinde toplumsal yapı tarafından dışta bırakılmışları kahramanlaştırarakkuran bir edebiyat türüdür. Bu genel özelliklere koşut olarak tür içinde yer alan ürünlerde dilin kullanımıortalama eserlere kıyasla önemli farklılıklar gösterir. Yeraltı Edebiyatı yazarı dilini ortalama günlükdilin ve alışılageldik edebi dilin uzağında, sokağın dilinden yararlanarak oluşturur. Bunun sonucunda dilinçok önemli parçaları olan sözel anlatı kalıpları gözle görülür bir değişime uğratılırlar. Buna göre, deyimleralışıldık kullanım biçimlerinden farklı şekillere sokulurken, atasözlerinin kullanımı yerini reklam sloganla¬rına, film repliklerine vs. bırakır.

The Underground Literature, in terms of its general features, is a literary genre, which positions itself out of the social power centers and against the all types of mediocre. Thus, the people who were excluded from the social structure are described as heroes. Parallel with these general features, the usage of language has important differences in the products of this genre. The author of the Underground Literature forms his language on a position that is aloof from average practical language and the usual literary one. As a matter of fact, verbal narrative patterns, which are the most important elements of language, are subject to an evi-dent change. Thus, idioms take different forms than their usual practices, and proverbs are superseded by advertisement slogans, movie cues and so on.
