"Surface structure" is determined by taking notice of words which are in the examined text and therefore reveal of their quantity, repetition of words, meter and punctuation marks like formal qualities and the grammatical values of the words that are in the lullaby. The data of "surface structure" is important to show deduction for the content and function of lullaby that applied. Predominantly, the main function of lullabies which reflect the relationship between mother and child is to make child sleep.
