1883'ten bugüne Cemilzade ve Udi Cemil Bey

Abstract

1883 yılında kurulmuş olan Cemilzade, günümüzde Türkiye’nin en değerli tarihi markaları arasında yer almaktadır. Cemilzade İstanbul’un dört farklı semtinde yıllardır kalitesinden ödün vermeyerek Türk halkının geleneksel lezzetlerinden olan lokum, badem ezmesi, akide şekeri, marmelat gibi ürünlerin üretimini yapmaktadır. Markanın temellerini atmış olan Udi Cemil Bey de en az Cemilzade markası kadar tarihte iz bırakmış bir isimdir. Kendisi şekerci, bestekâr, hafız ve udi gibi çeşitli sıfatlar almış; hem halk arasında hem de saray çevresinde ün salmıştır. Kendisinin bestelemiş olduğu eserler günümüzde de büyük sanatçılar tarafından hâlâ seslendirilmektedir. Bu araştırmada Cemilzade markasının kuruluşundan günümüze kadar geçirdiği sürecin yanı sıra Cemil Bey’in hayat hikâyesine ve hem musiki hem de şekercilik alanında yaptığı çalışmaların arka planına değinilmiştir.

Founded in 1883, Cemilzade is among the most valuable historical brands in Turkey today. Cemilzade has been producing products such as Turkish delight, marzipan, hard candy, and marmalade, which are traditional tastes of Turkish people, for years, without compromising on the quality in four different districts of Istanbul. Udi Cemil Bey, who laid the foundations of the brand, is a name that has left its mark on history as much as the Cemilzade brand. He took various titles such as confectioner, composer, hafiz, and oud player; he became famous among the people and around the palace. The works he composed are still performed by great artists today. In this research, besides the process of the Cemilzade brand from its establishment to the present, Cemil Bey's life story and the background of his works in both music and confectionery are mentioned.
