Habip Aydoğdu 1952 yılında Konya Aydoğmuş köyünde hayata gelmiştir. Köy hayatı ile başlayan yaşamı öğretmen okulunda okuyor olmasıyla birlikte İstanbul’a taşınmıştır. Başlangıçta sanat algısı doğadan gelmekteyken, İstanbul ile daha farklı görüşler edinmiş ve sanata dair algısını öğretmenlerinin de desteği eşliğinde geliştirmiştir. Okuldan sonra Mardin’de yaptığı askerliği sırasında edindiği deneyimlerin, şahit olduğu farklı etnik kültürden ve dinden olan insanların yaşamlarının sanatı üzerinde etkisi olmuştur. Aynı zamanda askerliği süresince sanat yapmaktaki ısrarı sonucu Cizre’ye sürülmüştür. Ankara’ya gidişiyle sanat cemiyetine giriş yapmış ve kendini cemiyette sevdirmiştir. İlk önce Filmler ve Televizyon Eğitim Merkezi’nde kadrolu grafiker olarak çalışmaya başlayan Aydoğdu, sonrasında TRT’ye geçiş yapmıştır. 1980’li yıllarda (TRT’den istifa ettiği yıl da dahil-1988) Aydoğdu sanatında soyutlaşmaya gitmiş, kuş figürlerinin kullanımıyla özgürlük temasını işlemeye başlamıştır. Hayatı boyunca birçok ödül, gittiği birçok yerde gördükleri ve yaşadıklarından resimlerine yön verecek detaylar kazanmıştır. Habip Aydoğdu’nun sanat süreci ve resimleri, çevresel faktörlerden etkilenmiştir ve çizildikleri dönemin yansımalarını içerilerinde bulunduran parçalara dönüşmüşlerdir.

Habip Aydoğdu was born in 1952, Konya Aydoğmuş village. He grew up in the rural area but then moved to Istanbul for his education. In the beginning his understanding of art was limited to the beauty in nature, however, discovering new and different approaches to the subject in Istanbul along with the help of his teachers, Aydoğdu started developing his view and understanding of art. During his time in the military in Mardin, his experiences in the area and the lives of the multicultural and multireligious community he witnessed influenced his art. Moreover, his urge to make art during his service ended with him being deported to Cizre. When Aydoğdu went to Ankara, he entered the art society and was welcomed there. First, he worked as a graphic designer in the Movies and Television Education Center, then he started working in TRT. In the 1980s (including the year he quit from TRT- 1988) Aydoğdu went abstract in his art and by using bird figures, he had handled the subject of freedom. Throughout his life, he won a lot of awards in regard to his art. Aydoğdu made his art using many pieces he had gathered from his experiences, the places and lives he had seen. Habip Aydoğdu's art process and paintings have been affected by environmental factors and have turned into pieces that contain the reflections of the period they were drawn.
