Bir petrokimya devi: PETKİM

Abstract

PETKİM ülkemizde petrokimya sanayinin başlangıç noktası olarak kabul edilen bir kurumdur. Kurulduğu günden bu yana yaklaşık 60 yıllık bir sanayi ve üretim serüveni geçirmiş bu kurum, Türkiye’yi ve etkin olduğu bölge coğrafyasını çeşitli yönlerden etkilemiş ve katkı sağlamıştır. PETKİM, özelleştirildikten sonra SOCAR Turkey A.Ş, himayesine girmiştir ve günümüzde faaliyetlerine bu şirketin altında sürdürmektedir. PETKİM’in serüvenini anlamak, Türkiye’nin 1960’lı yıllardan 2000’lere uzanan ekonomi ve sanayi yolculuğunun anlaşılmasında önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu araştırmada; PETKİM’in kuruluşu, büyüme süreci, Türkiye ve kurulduğu bölgeler üzerine etkisi, özelleştirme süreci ve günümüzdeki faaliyetleri ele alınacaktır. Bu çalışma sürecinde devlet kalkınma planlarından, bu alanda yazılmış makale ve tezlerden, PETKİM’de uzun süre önemli görevlerde bulunmuş emekli bir çalışanla yapılan röportajdan yararlanılmıştır.

PETKIM is an institution accepted as the starting point of the petrochemical industry in our country. This institution, which has experienced an industry and production adventure of approximately 60 years since its establishment, has influenced and contributed to Turkey and the region's geography in which it is active in various aspects. After PETKIM was privatized, it became a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey A.Ş and continues its activities under this company today. Understanding PETKIM's adventure plays an important role in interpreting Turkey's economic and industrial journey from the 1960s to the 2000s. In this project the establishment of PETKIM, its growth process, its impact on Turkey and the regions where it was founded, the privatization process and its current activities will be discussed. In this study, state development plans, articles and theses written in this field, interview with an experienced employee who worked at PETKIM for a long time were used.
