Bu araştırma Cumhuriyet tarihi boyunca arıcılığın gelişiminden bahsederek bir gezici arıcı olan Mehmet Kaya’nın hikayesini ele almaktadır. Araştırma, Cumhuriyet tarihinde arıcılığın nasıl başlayıp geliştiğinden ve daha sonra bal üretimi için yakın zamanlarda nasıl teşvikler verildiğinden bahsedecektir. Bunların yanı sıra araştırma boyunca sıklıkla propolis, bal üretimi ve gezici arıcılık kavramlarından bahsedilecektir. Aynı zamanda arıcıların yaşadıkları zorluklar ve modern uygulamalara değinilecektir. Son olarak Mehmet Kaya’nın arıcılığa yönelmesi ve bu süreç sırasında karşılaştığı zorluklar arıcılık tarihi ile ilişkilendirilerek ele alınacaktır.

The scope of this research is mainly about the development of beekeeping throughout the history of the Republic of Turkey as well as the story of a wandering beekeeper Mehmet Kaya. The research will inspect events such as how beekeeping began and developed in the history of the Republic of Turkey and the incentives given by the government to beekeepers in the near history. Besides, throughout this research, concepts such as propolis, honey production, and wandering beekeeping will be recurring. Also, the hardships that beekeepers endure and modern methods in beekeeping will be evaluated. Finally, Mehmet Kaya’s story of how he started beekeeping and the challenges he confronted will be associated with given concepts and historical information.
