| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The land that is known as Bulgaria today was once under Ottoman rule. As a result,
once Bulgaria declared its independence, many Muslim Turkish families continued to live in
Bulgaria. Those families that continued to live in Bulgaria were exposed to discrimination and
attacks by the local people and the Bulgarian government. Cumalı and Saygın families, who
were two of those families, both migrated to Turkey on different dates. This article will
elaborate on why many families migrated to Turkey, what they went through when migrating,
and the adaptation period of these families by inquiring into the journal of Emrulla Cumalı,
newspapers reflecting the circumstances of the period, and past papers written on the subject. | en_US |
