Turhal Şeker Fabrikası, 1934’te açılan Türkiye’nin dördüncü şeker fabrikasıdır. Fabrika Turhal’ın şehirleşmesine ve Türkiye’nin şeker endüstrisine önemli katkıda bulunmuştur. Genelde iç piyasaya kristal şeker satışı yapan fabrikanın üretim kapasitesi 1990’dan itibaren kuruluş yıllarının çok üstüne çıksa da fabrikanın şeker ve yan ürün üretimi son yıllarda azalmıştır. Zamanında Türkşeker’e ait olan Turhal Şeker Fabrikası ilgili Şeker Kanununca ihalesi gerçekleştirilerek 4 Mayıs 2018 tarihinde Kayseri Şeker’e satılmıştır. Fabrikanın özelleştirilmesi satın alan şirket tarafında olumlu sonuçlar doğursa da Turhal halkının ve fabrikanın işçilerinin şartlarında kötüleşmeler ve olumsuzluklar meydana getirmiştir.

Turhal Sugar Factory opened in 1934 and is the fourth sugar factory in Turkey. The factory contributed greatly to the urbanization of Turhal and the sugar industry in Turkey. The factory, which typically produced crystal sugar, increased its production significantly after the 1990s however, the production slowed down in recent years. On May 4th, 2018, the factory which used to belong to Türkşeker was sold to Kayseri Şeker. The privatization of the factory was beneficial to the buying company; however, the privatization was harmful to the workers at the factory and the population of Turhal.
