The Cemil family is a well respected, historical family, both on the southern city of Limasol, as well as the entirety of the island. Until the genesis of the Cyprus Problem, the family was prominent in establishing the place of the modern Turks in the southern parts of Cyprus, and with the issue escalating, helped many Turkish citizens on the island both embrace their nationality as well as keep their heads up. After the Cyprus Peace Operation, the family had to abandon their home and settle in Kyrenia, whilst also upholding duties within the Turkish Intelligence Agency and providing Turkish troops with munitions and weaponry that they smuggled from Nicosia. During this project research was conducted to determine the role that the family played in the establishment of the Turkish Nation of Northern Cyprus, as well as their contributions to both the island people and the Turkish forces during the battles. Interviews with the members of the family who are still alive, as well as written documents from the time were utilized in order to determine the extent of the help given by the family. To determine the importance of the aid it is also paramount to analyze events previous to and after the war, while also weighing in the conditions the family was under at these given times. Although the sacrifices that the family had to endure during the times of war were massive, their role in the development of the post-war Northern Cyprus both intellectually and socio-economically is revered most heavily as their crowning achievement.29 pages.TurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Ramadan CemilHavva Cemilİşın CemilHasan CemilAhmet ÖzyalçınKıbrıs Barış HarekatıCyprus Peace OperationÖZTÜRK HIST 200-21/7 2017-18Kıbrıs'ın gönlü zengin insanları: Cemil AilesiStudent ProjectSPB2792
