It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 16-17).Türkiye’de tenis sporunun tanınması ve yaygın bir spor haline gelmesi 20. yüzyıla dayanmaktadır. Tenis sporuna olan ilginin artması dolayısı ile Türkiye’de açılan kulüplerden biri de Ankara Tenis Kulübü’dür. Resmi açılış yılı 1947 olan Ankara Tenis Kulübü açıldığı günden beri aktifliğini sürdürmektedir. Zaman içerisinde düzenlediği turnuvalar ve sosyal etkinlikler sayesinde Ankara için kültürel bir buluşma ortamı oluşturmuştur. ATK’nın bünyesinde yetişen önemli tenisçiler de bu ortamdan faydalanmıştır. Bu ortamı bizzat yaşayan Beyazıt Anbar ve Tansu Polatkan ile yapılan röportajlar, belirlenen konular hakkında daha çok fikir sahibi olunmasına yardımcı olmuştur. Ayrıca ATK resim arşivi, karar defteri ve kupa koleksiyonu araştırma süresinde yeterli bilgiler edinilmesini sağlamıştır. Bu araştırmada Türkiye tenis tarihinden, ATK’nın tarihi öneminden, ATK’nın mimari yapılarından, düzenlenen müsabakalardan ve bünyesinde yetiştirdiği önemli tenisçilerden bahsedilmiştir.The recognition of tennis sport in Turkey and its becoming a common sport dates back to the 20th century. One of the clubs that opened in Turkey due to the increasing interest in tennis sports is Ankara Tennis Club. Ankara Tennis Club, which official opening year is 1947, has been active since its opening. Thanks to the tournaments and social events it organized over time, it created a cultural meeting environment for Ankara. Important tennis players trained within ATK have also benefited from this environment. Interviews with Beyazıt Anbar and Tansu Polatkan, who personally experienced this environment, helped to gain more insight into the determining subjects. In addition, the ATK photograph archive, decision book, and championship cup collection provided sufficient information during the research period.
