It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 14).Mardin'in Midyat ilçesinin ilk stüdyo fotoğrafçısı olan Mehmet Nuri Çelebi'nin 1962'de bu işe neden ve nasıl başladığı, yaşadığı sıkıntılar, bulduğu çözümler, insanların o zamanda fotoğrafçılığa bakış açısı incelendi. Kamerayla tanışmasının ve askerlikte fotoğrafçılık becerilerini pekiştirmesinin ardından borç parayla açıp 1988 yılına kadar işlettiği fotoğrafçılık dükkanı araştırıldı. 26 yıl boyunca işlettiği dükkanında, komşu ilçelerde fotoğrafçı olmamasından dolayı civar ilçelerdeki insanların fotoğraf işlerini hallettiği için araştırmaya değer görüldü. Bu araştırmanın sonucunda fotoğrafçılığın o dönemde nasıl işlediğini ve dükkanın varlığını nasıl sürdürdüğünü öğrenmeyi amaçladık. Çalışmada Mehmet Bey'in oğlu Mehmet Mesut Çelebi ile yapılan röportaj ve Mardin hakkında makaleler kullanıldı.The reason why and how Mehmet Nuri Çelebi, the first studio photographer of Mardin's Midyat district, started this business in 1962, the hardships he faced, the solutions he found and the opinions of people at that time to photography are examined. The photography shop, which he opened with debt money after meeting with the camera and then consolidating his photography skills during his military service, and operated until 1988, was explored. This was deemed worthy of research because at the shop that he operated for 26 years, due to neighboring districts not having a photographer, he was getting those people in neighboring districts' photography related things done. As a result of this research, we aimed to learn how photography worked at that time and how the shop continued to exist.
