It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Ankara'nın ise 2. büyük termik santrali olan Çayırhan Termik Santrali'nin 1976'da temellerinin atılmasından başlayarak günümüze kadar geçirdiği tarihi tüm süreçler ayrıntılı olarak incelenmektedir. Linyit bazlı Çayırhan Termik Santrali'nin ciddi bir elektrik enerjisi ihtiyacını karşıladığı göz önünde bulundurularak, psikolojik ve çevresel etkileri ele alınmıştır. Santralın Türkiye'de özel sektöre devredilen ilk termik santral olmasıyla beraber özelleştirme süreci ve sonrası da ayrıntıyla incelenmiş, doğurduğu siyasi ve sosyo-ekonomik etkiler aktarılmıştır.In this research, Turkey's thirty fifth and Ankara's second largest coal power station Çayırhan Termik Santrali's history, starting from the first launch in 1976 till its completion including all the historical project development stages, is examined in detail. Considering the fact that Çayırhan Termik Santrali, which uses brown coal, is providing a serious amount of electricity energy, psychological and environmental effects are also evaluated.
