It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Mahallenin sakinlerinden olan sözlü kaynaklarımız Hayriye Hoşel ve Netice Taşkır Hacıhasan Mahallesi’nde yıllarca ikamet etmişlerdir. Hacıhasan Mahallesi’ni, ağırlıklıkla sözlü kaynaklarımızdan elde ettiğimiz açıklamalardan ve birincil ve ikincil yazılı kaynaklarımızdan edindiğimiz bazı bilgilerin ışığından yararlanarak; kültürel, mimari ve demografik açılardan 1970 ve 2000’li yıllar arasına odaklanarak inceledik. Bu incelemenin sonucunda Hacıhasan Mahallesi’nin nasıl değişimlerden geçtiğini, yaşadığı sorunları ve incelemeye değer durumlarını anlamaya ve aktarmaya çalıştık.Hacıhasan Neighborhood is one of the significant districts of Kocaeli, known for its historical richness and cultural diversity. Our oral sources, Hayriye Hoşel and Netice Taşkır, are long-time residents of Hacıhasan Neighborhood. We examined the neighborhood using the explanations provided by our oral sources, along with some information obtained from primary and secondary written sources. Focusing on the cultural, architectural, and demographic aspects of the neighborhood, we concentrated on the period between the 1970s and 2000s. As a result of this examination, we aimed to understand and convey the changes Hacıhasan Neighborhood has undergone, the challenges it faced, and the aspects worth studying.
