It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Nevit Kodallı, Çağdaş Türk müziğine sadece eserleri ile değil, yetiştirdiği öğrencileri ile de katkıda bulunması dolayısıyla araştırmaya değer bir isim olarak görülmüştür. Araştırma kapsamında Nevit Kodallı’nın bir eğitimci ve sanatçı olarak çok yönlülüğü ele alınacak, sanatçının Çağdaş Türk müziği repertuvarına kazandırdığı eserler ve Türk müziği üzerine görüşleri dönemin siyasi ve sosyal koşulları ışığında incelenecektir.Nevit Kodallı is a Republican Era composer who is granted with the title “National Artist” and has contributed to Turkish Contemporary music in various aspects. Nevit Kodallı was born in 1925 and had died in 2009, and he was one of the names who have shown great efforts to continue the music revolution started by Atatürk throughout his life. Nevit Kodallı has been chosen as a topic worth researching due to his contributes to the Contemporary Turkish music not only with his musical compositions, but also with the students he has trained.
