It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Mücadelesinde gösterdiği özveri ve başarı sebebiyle takdir toplamıştır. Ülkesinin iyiliğini önemseyen Demirci Mehmet Efe’ye siyasete katılması yönünde teklifler olmuş ancak kendisi hiçbir zaman siyasete girmeyi tercih etmemiştir. Millî mücadeledeki bazı eylemleri sebebiyle birkaç kesim tarafından hain olarak nitelendirilmiştir. Kendisine birçok kez suikast düzenlenmiştir. Milli bir değer olan Demirci Mehmet Efe; ölümünden sonra bile ismini müzelerde, türkülerde ve romanlarda yaşatmıştır.Demirci Mehmet Efe fought against the occupying forces and rebel units during the War of Independence. He was appreciated for his dedication and success in the conflict. There were offers to Demirci Mehmet Efe, who cared about the well-being of his country, to join politics, but he never preferred to enter politics. He was described as a traitor by several groups due to some of his actions in the War of Independence . He was assassinated many times.
