It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Kavimler Göçüyle birlikte Orta Asya’dan dünyanın dört bir yanına dağılan Türkler, günümüz Çin coğrafyasından Avrupa coğrafyasına birçok bölgeye göç ettiler. Göç hareketini gerçekleştiren Türk ırkının Oğuz Boyunun Üçok Kolu’na mensup olan Varsak Türkmenleri Anadolu’ya göç ederek konar-göçer yaşam tarzlarıyla önce Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesinde yerleĢime baĢlayıp ilerleyen zamanlarda çeşitli bölgelere yayıldılar. Orta Asya’dan getirdikleri kültürleriyle Anadolu’da geçirdikleri uzun yılların sonucu olan yenilikleri harmanlayarak kendilerine has, zengin ve eşsiz bir kültür oluşturdular ve oluşturdukları bu kültürü bugüne kadar taşımayı başardılar. Varsak Türkleri Anadolu ve Türk tarihinde kimlikleri ve kültürleriyle iz bıraktılar. Varsaklar günümüz Türkiye’sinde hala varlıklarını sürdürmektedirler.During the Migration Period, people of Turkic ancestry migrated from Central Asia and moved to various places all around the world, including modern China and Europe. Varsak Turkmens of Oghuz descendant who lived a seminomadic lifestyle first migrated to Southeastern Anatolia and were then spread out through many nearby cities in the following years. They have combined the Central Asian culture of their past and the Anatolian culture they adopted, creating a rich mix and they have managed to keep it alive to the present day.
