It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 22-24).1960’lardan beri hızla gelişen bilgisayarlar, insanların hayatlarına birçok kavram katmıştır. Bu kavramlardan hackerlık Türkiye’de 1997-2000’li yıllarda yaygınlaşmış, siber güvenliğin önemsenmesiyse 2000’lerin ortasını bulmuştur. Bu zamanda Tamer Şahin ilk resmi hacker olarak önemli rol oynamıştır. Bu çalışmada Şahin’in bilgisayarlara olan ilgisinin nasıl başladığından bahsedilecektir. Dönemin Şahin’in kariyerini nasıl şekillendirdiği ve Türkiye’nin bilişim suçlarına ve hacker kültürüne karşı tutumu, Şahin’in medyadaki görünürlüğü göz önünde bulundurularak incelenecektir. Dönemin önemli hackerlarından Şahin’in kariyerinin ve medyadaki görünürlüğünün incelenmesi, siber güvenlik ve bilişim kültürünü anlamak için gereklidir.Computers, which have been developing rapidly since the 1960s, have added many concepts to people’s lives. During the time, the concept of hackers became prevalent in Turkey through 1997-2000, cyber security has only gained importance in the mid 2000s. During this time, Tamer Şahin played an important role as the first official hacker. In this study, the origins of Şahin's interest in computers will be mentioned. How the period shaped Şahin's career and his portrayal in the media will be studied by taking Turkey's stance on cyber crimes and hacker culture into consideration.
