It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 17-18).Basın yayın organları ve gazetecilik, kitleler üzerinde oldukça etkili olup toplumsal reaksiyonların, şeklini ve boyutunu etkileyen önemli araçlardır. Dolayısıyla büyük kitlelere hitap eden televizyonun bu hususta etkisi yadsınamaz. Teknolojinin de katkısıyla, televizyon, haberin yayılmasında büyük rol oynamıştır. Türkiye’de ise televizyon gazeteciliğinin ilk örneklerinden biri olarak yer alan Arena, program formatı ve tarzı ile televizyon gazeteciliğine yeni bir soluk getirmiştir. Buna ek olarak, pek çok toplumsal olayı gün yüzüne çıkarmış ve uzun yıllar izleyicilerin takdirini kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Türk televizyon gazeteciliğinden bahsedilecek ve ana örnek olarak Arena programı ele alınacaktır.Media organs and journalism are very influential on the masses and are prominent tools that affect the shape and sphere of social reactions. Nonetheless, the influence of television which appeals to large masses is undeniable. With the contribution of technology, television has played a major role in the dissemination of the news. The Arena is positioned in Turkey as one of the first examples of television journalism, with the program format and style of television journalism has brought a new breath. Furthermore, Arena has unearthed many social events and was approved by audiences from all walks of life for many years.
