It uses settlement pattern analyses as ways to trace continuity and change, and incorporates architectural data to test their results. Three plains in particular are selected for this tasks; Altınova and Karababa Dam area of the Upper Euphrates and the Amuq at the confluence of North Syria and Southeast Anatolia.
