It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Bu çalışmada genellikle, Hatay Musevi Cemaati Vakfı'nın güncel başkanı Şaul Cenudioğlu’nun hayatına ve Türkiye’de Yahudilik üstüne odaklanılmıştır. Bu çalışma, Yahudiliğin ve antisemitizmin genel kavramlarına odaklanmaktan ziyade bu kavramları kullandığımız kaynaklardaki bireylerin tecrübeleri üzerinden anlatarak detaylandırmıştır. Yahudiliğin ne anlama geldiğinden ve daha sonra Yahudi gelenek göreneklerinden bahsederek, Türkiye’de yaşayan Yahudilerin genel olarak hayatlarını nasıl sürdürdükleri anlatılmıştır. Ardından “Türkiye’de Yahudi Olmak” başlığı daha özele indirgenerek Hatay’da Yahudi olmanın diğer şehirlere göre ne gibi farklılıkları olduğu incelenmiştir. Bu aşamada özellikle Hatay Musevi Cemaati Vakfı Başkanı Şaul Cenudioğlu ile yapılan röportajdan faydalanılmış, yaşadığı tecrübelerden yola çıkılarak anlatım güçlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.In this study, the focus is generally on Judaism in Turkey and Hatay Jewish Community’s current president Şaul Cenudioğlu’s life. The concept was explained in detail through personal experience rather than the context of Judaism and antisemitism. The meaning of Judaism, its customs and traditions and daily lives of Jewish people in Turkey were mentioned. Then, what was different in Hatay compared to other cities in Turkey was analyzed under the “Being Jewish in Turkey” title.
