It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-20).Türkiye’deki sosyal, kültürel, politik değişimler ve gelişimler müzik sektörünü de etkilemiştir. Batı tarzı müziğin Caz müzik ötesine geçmesiyle birlikte başka batı tarzı türler de Türk müziğinde yer almaya başlamıştır. Bu türlerden biri olan Rock’n’roll müzik türünün ilk temsilcisi Erkut Taçkın olmuştur. Erkut Taçkın’ın Rock’n’roll müzik türünün ilk örneklerini sergilemesiyle Batı tarzı müzik Türkiye’de ivme yakalamıştır. Rock müzik türü ve türevlerinin de Türkiye’de popülerleşmesiyle Rock, 1980 darbesine kadar dönemin poopüler müziği haline gelmiştir.The music sector in Turkey was affected drastically by social, cultural, political changes and developments. The effects of Western music was not limited only to jazz genre: The other genres soon gained popularity. Amongs these genres there was Rock’n’oll and the first person to have a Rock’n’roll performance in Turkey was Erkut Taçkın. As Erkut Taçkın introduced the Turkish audience with Rock’n’roll, the Western music’s popularity increased even more in Turkey.
