It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Günümüze kadar Türkiye’deki şeker fabrikalarının kuruluş süreçlerini ve devletin bu fabrikalar üzerindeki etkileri ele alınmıştır. Şeker fabrikalarının özelleştirilmesiyle ilgili politikalar, bu politikaların uygulanma süreçleri ve bunun ekonomik etkileri açıklanmıştır. Ayrıca, Kastamonu Şeker Fabrikasının bölgesel kalkınmaya katkıları, fabrikadaki cinsiyet dağılımı oranları değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca, kaynaklarımızdan aldığımız bilgilerle fabrikanın üretim kapasitesinin ve teknolojik yapısının analizi yapılmıştır. Kastamonu Şeker Fabrikasının güncel müdürü ve eski kalite kontrol müdürü ile yapılan röportajlar sonucunda, fabrikada karşılaşılan sıkıntılar ve fabrikanın Kastamonu üzerindeki etkileri hakkında bilgiler elde edilmiştir.This study comprehensively examines the historical development of sugar factories in Turkey, sugar production, and policies, as well as the establishment, development, and societal impacts of the Kastamonu Sugar Factory. It addresses the establishment processes of sugar factories in Turkey up to the present and the state's influence on these factories. The policies regarding the privatization of sugar factories, the implementation processes of these policies, and their economic impacts are discussed. Additionally, the contributions of the Kastamonu Sugar Factory to regional development and its gender distributions are evaluated. An analysis of the factory's production capacity and technological structure has been made using information gathered from our sources.
