It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Akabinde gazetecilik, arşivcilik, magazin yazarlığı ve eleştirmenlik yaptı. Kendisi 1960-1970’li yıllarda yani Yeşilçam Sinemasının rağbet gördüğü dönemde yaptığı röportajlar ve sert eleştirileri ile tanındı. Bu eleştirilerinde Yeşilçam’ın endüstrileşen tarafını yansıtmaktan hiç çekinmeyip dönemin karanlık gerçeklerini kitaplar, eleştiriler ve köşe yazıları aracılığıyla dile getirdi. Kendisi Yeşilçam’ı ve onun yaratmış olduğu kadın sömürüsünü tarafsız bir biçimde ortaya koyarak cinsiyet rollerinden ve tabulardan bahsetti. Bu söylemleriyle ne kadar yankı uyandırsa ve bazı yapımcıları sinirlendirse de Agâh Bey’i sinema camiasındaki yerinden edemedi. Agâh Bey Eleştirmenliğinin yanında 1960’lı yıllarda arşivciliğe merak sarmış hatta 1960’lı yıllardan önceki belgeleri dâhi toplayarak Türkiye’de zamanla “Arşiv Babası” lâkabını almıştır.Agâh Özgüç stepped into the literary community with the influence of Atilla İlhan. He subsequently worked as a journalist, archivist, magazine writer, and critic. He was known for his interviews and harsh criticism in the 1960s-1970s when Yeşilçam Cinema was in demand. In these criticisms, he did not hesitate to reflect on the industrialized face of Yeşilçam and expressed the dark realities of the period through books, reviews, and columns. He talked about gender roles and taboos by exposing Yeşilçam’s dark history of exploiting women. His direct words angered some of the producers. However, it only strengthened Agâh Özgüç’s position in the cinema industry. In addition to being a critic, Agâh Özgüç became interested in archiving in the 1960s, even managed to collect documents before the 1960s.
