It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bulgaristan‟da da lokanta işleten Çalışır ailesinin yolunun İskenderoğlu Ailesi ve İskender kebapla çakışması sonucu yaşanan süreç, Cemal ve Cemil Çalışır‟ın kendi markalarını yaratma isteği ile kurdukları Uludağ Kebapçısı dükkânı altında İskender kebapla özleşen fakat tarifi ile yeni bir lezzet olan Bursa kebabının doğuşuna öncülük etmiştir.The Calisir family migrated from Bulgaria to Bursa in 1951 under the pressure of the communist Greek government of that period.
