It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. İlk sinema binaları 1920’li yıllarda Ankara’nın sosyokültürel açıdan zengin bir semti olan Ulus’ta açıldı. Bu yazıda Ankara’nın ilk dört sineması olan Millet Bahçesi, Kulüp, Yeni ve Ulus sinemalarının tarihçelerine, o dönemdeki işlevlerine ve günümüzdeki sinemalarla karşılaştırılmasına değinilecektir.In the early 1900s, Turkey’s first cinema was established since the Ottoman Empire has imitated the West. After Ankara was declared to be the capital city of Turkey on the 13th of October 1920, Ankara entered the urbanization process and because of the demand of the people, the first cinema buildings began to be built in Ankara. In the 1920s the first cinema buildings were opened in Ulus, which is a socioculturally rich district of Ankara.
