It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 20-22).Bu çalışmanın konusu, Türkiye tarihinde birçok aile ve bireyi çeşitli hususlarda derinden etkilemiş olan 12 Eylül Askeri Darbesi ve darbenin, aslen Malatyalı Çiçek çifti ve üç çocukları üzerindeki etkileridir. Bir öğretmen ailesi olan Çiçek ailesinin bu dönemde kamu çalışanı olmaları, tayin olanakları ve politik yönelimleri ile paralel örgüt ve öğretmen sendikaları ile işbirliği içinde faaliyetleri nedeniyle ağır baskılar görmüşlerdir. Bu çalışmada, 12 Eylül Darbesi öncesinde Türkiye ve Çiçek ailesi, ülke genelindeki öğretmen sendikalarındaki siyasi ayrışmalar, sıkıyönetim hükümetinin darbe sonrası toplumsal ve ekonomik politikaları ve darbenin Çiçek ailesi üzerindeki etkileri incelenmektedir.The subject of this study is the impact of September 12th military coup, an instance in Turkey's history which profoundly affected many families and individuals on various aspects, on the Çiçek Couple and their three children, originally from Malatya. The Çiçek family, a family of teachers, faced heavy pressure due to the fact that they were working under the government during this period, their appointment opportunities and political ideologies, and their activities in cooperation with organizations and teachers' unions.
