It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. İzmir’de de savaşla karşılaşan ve bu süreçte birden fazla ferdini kaybeden Dalan ailesi bir yandan da yoksulluk çekti. Bu sebeple çocukken çalışma hayatına atılan Hamdi Dalan sabun üretimiyle tanıştı. Yıllar boyunca bu sektörde farklı işyerlerinde azimle çalıştıktan sonra kendi sabunhanesinde üretime başladı. Sabunhanenin ilk yıllarında İkinci Dünya Savaşı ve beraberinde getirdiği ekonomik etkileri sebebiyle çeşitli sorunlarla karşılaştı. Yaşanan zoruklar rağmen sabunhaneyi büyüterek sabun üretimine devam edeceği fabrikayı satın aldı. Çalışma hayatı boyunca edindiği tecrübeleriyle oğlu Akın Dalan’ı yetiştirerek onun Dalan Kimya Endüstri’yi kurmasına öncülük etti.Due to the Balkan Wars in the Ottoman Empire, Hamdi Dalan and his family left the Balkans in the early 1900s and moved to Izmir. The Dalan family, who also faced the war in Izmir and lost more than one member in this process, also suffered from poverty. As a result, Hamdi Dalan began to work as a child and became acquainted with soap production. After years of working diligently in several workplaces in the sector, he started production in his own soap shop. Due to the Second World War and its repercussions on the economy, the soap shop encountered numerous issues in its early years. Despite the challenges, he expanded the business and purchased the factory where he will continue to manufacture soap.
