It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 14).Eskişehir'de kurulmuş, adını Emir Porsuk'dan almış ve tarihi 1927'lere dayanan Büyük Porsuk Otel, Eskişehir'in il olması sonrasında yapılan yenilikler ve artan göçler dolayısıyla şehirdeki konaklama ihtiyacını karşılamak üzere inşa edilmiştir. Kurulduğu dönemin şartları göz önüne alınarak düşünüldüğünde diğer bina ve yapılardan üstün özelliklere sahip olan otel, önemli etkinliklere ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Otelin belediye binası olarak kullanılma kararından bir süre sonra Emekli Sandığı tarafından inşaatına başlanan diğer Porsuk Otel, 26 Mayıs 1960'da Adnan Menderes tarafından açılır. Bu çalışmada, Porsuk Otel tarihi, ilgili belge, yayın ve röportajlardan yararlanılarak anlatılmıştır. Tarihi yapılarının günümüze kadar bozulmadan gelmeleriyle ilk günkü duruşlarından ödün vermeyen oteller, yalnızca yapısal özellikleriyle büyülemeyip, verilen hizmetlerin kalitesiyle de günümüzde kendilerinden söz ettirmektedirler.Büyük Porsuk Hotel, which was founded in Eskişehir, named after Emir Porsuk and dates back to 1927, was built to meet the need for accommodation in the city due to innovations and increasing migrations since Eskişehir became a province. Considering the conditions of the period in which it was founded, the hotel, which has superior features over other buildings and structures, hosted a lot of important events. The other Porsuk Hotel, which was started to be built by the Emekli Sandığı after some time after the decision to use the hotel as a municipality building, was opened by Adnan Menderes on May 26, 1960. In this study, the history of Porsuk Hotel is explained by using related documents, publications and interviews.
