This paper focuses on the life and works of Royal Merriman Cole, an American missionary who performed his duties and spent most of his life in Ottoman-era Turkey in the latter part of the 19th century. He was sent to preach Christianity and support the Christian communities of the region. In addition to being a missionary, Cole performed humanitarian and relief works during the Russo-Turkish war. He was present in Erzurum when the war broke out, and taking advantage of his neutral background, he carried out various relief activities for the people of the region struck by the war. He continued to perform his duties as a missionary before and after the war until the start of the 20th century. He returned to the United States after retirement but left his mark on the Turkish soil forever.16 pages.TurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Erzurum93 HarbiErzurum kuşatmasıYardım faaliyetleriMisyonerKıtlıkRusso-Turkish WarSiege of ErzurumMedical reliefRescue activitiesMissionaryFamineYİĞİT HIST 209-3/2 2018-19Royal M.
