It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 21-22).Bu çalışmada 1970 ile 1989 yılları arasında Galatasaray Lisesinde eğitim almış olmanın beraberinde getirdiği avantaj ve dezavantajlar incelenmektedir. Araştırmanın ana kaynağını, belirtilen senelerde Galatasaray Lisesinde okumuş olan altı mezunla yapılan sözlü görüşmeler oluşturmaktadır. Bu görüşmeler sayesinde okulun negatif yönlerinin de incelenebiliyor olması, bu çalışmadayı literatürdeki çoğu diğer çalışmadan ayırmaktadır. Odaklanılan alt başlıklar sırasıyla binalar, eğitim programı ve kadrosu, yatılılık, işleyiş, sanat, kültür, spor, siyasi olaylar, mezunlar ve Fransa ile ilişkilerdir. İşleyiş başlığı altında okul mevcudu, kıyafet kuralları, okul içerisindeki hiyerarşi, disiplin ve başkan seçimleri konularına değinilmektedir.In this study, the advantages and the disadvantages brought by having gotten an education in Galatasaray High School between the years 1970 and 1989 will be analyzed. The primary source of the paper will consist of six interviews conducted with Galatasaray graduates that have been students in the school in the aforementioned years. The fact that the drawbacks of the school can be studied as well thanks to these interviews, sets this study apart from most others in the literature. The subtitles that have been focused on are the buildings, curriculum, teaching staff, being a boarding school, how the school was run, arts, culture, sports, political events, graduates and relations with France.
