It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 23-25).Fransız Lisesi olan Notre Dame de Sion Osmanlı döneminde kurulmuştur ve köklü bir tarihe sahiptir. 1856 yılında Osmanlı Devleti'nde açılan ilk kız lisesi olarak bilinen Notre Dame de Sion Lisesi günümüze kadar varlığını devam ettirmiş ve tarih içinde birçok olaya tanık olmuştur. 1996 yılında karma eğitime geçerek bir dönüm noktası yaşayan Notre Dame de Sion, kuruluş yılından itibaren gerek eğitimi ve kadrosuyla gerek kültür sanat etkinlikleriyle Türkiye'de ön plana çıkan eğitim kurumlarından biri olmuştur. Öte yandan, Türkiye'de kız çocuklarının eğitimine katkılarıyla ön plana çıkmıştır. Bu araştırmada Notre Dame de Sion Lisesi ile ilgili yazılı, görsel kaynaklar ve öğretmenlerden 1997 mezunu Yeşim Özçubukçu, 1986 mezunu Lin Özyönüm, 1993 mezunu Tuna Saikali'den alınan bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Geçmişten günümüze Notre Dame de Sion Fransız Lisesinin Türk eğitimine ve Türkiye'de kız çocuklarının eğitimine katkıları, geçirdiği değişimler, kültür ve sanat etkinlikleri anlatılmaktadır.Notre Dame de Sion, which is a French high school, was founded in the Ottoman period, and is a well-established institute. The high school, which was founded in 1856, is known to be the first girls high school in the Ottoman Empire and continues to exist to this day, having witnessed many historical events. Notre Dame de Sion had its turning point after becoming a coed school in 1996, stands out with its education, teaching staff, and cultural and art activities since its foundation year. In addition, the school has made its mark with their contribution on girls' education in Turkey.
