It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 14-15).Atölyeler ve küçük işletmeler ölçeğinde Türk sanayiciliği, 1960'ların başında birçok imkânsızlık içerisindeydi. Kısıtlı şartlara ve maddi imkânların azlığına karşın kişisel bir girişim olarak 1965 yılında Necati Oğuz tarafından kurulan bir atölye, Üstün-El Eksoz ismiyle ortaya çıktı. O dönemde köy okullarında demircilik eğitimi gören Necati Oğuz, kazandığı Ulus Sanat Mektebi'ni yarıda bırakarak iş hayatına atıldı ve neticede Üstün-El Eksoz'un ilk atölyesini kurdu. Türkiye Petrolleri'nden aldığı iş ile birlikte ünlenen ve işleri iyiye doğru giden Necati Oğuz, 1974 yılına gelindiğinde ülke şartları dolayısıyla çalışma alanını genişletmek durumunda kaldı. Kıbrıs Sorunu sonrasında Türkiye'ye uygulanan Amerikan ambargosu neticesinde ülkede iş makinesi sektöründe doğan yedek parça açığı, Üstün-El Eksoz'u bu sektöre girmeye teşvik etti. 1980 yılında oğulları Ayhan Oğuz ve hâlihazırda egzozculuk ile meşgul olan Burhan Oğuz'un da katılımıyla, Üstün-El Eksoz büyümeye devam etti. İhtilal sonrası dönemde fuarlar vesilesiyle yurt dışına açılan Üstün El Eksoz, yeni tip makineler için yeni tip egzozların üretimine de başlayarak ürün yelpazesini yıldan yıla genişletti. Bu genişleme doğrultusunda, Çukurova firması aracılığıyla yurt dışına ihracata başlayan Üstün-El Eksoz, şirketleşme sürecinde önemli bir adım attı ve 1996 yılında Necati Oğuz, Burhan Oğuz ve Ayhan Oğuz olmak üzere üç ortağı ile Üstün-El Eksoz Ltd. Şirketi kuruldu. Bugün hâlâ aktif şekilde üretim faaliyeti yapmakta olan şirket; İtalya, ABD, İrlanda gibi dünya ülkelerine ihracat yapmaktadır.In the range of workshops and small businesses, Turkish Industries having a difficult time at the beginning of the 1960's. At the time of limited opportunities and financial difficulties, Necati Oğuz founded an individual enterprise which called Üstün-El Eksoz in 1965. Necati Oğuz have learned smithery in village school and after leaving the Ulus Art High School, he joined business life and founded the first workshop of Üstün-El Eksoz. After Turkish Petroleum business his job become renowned and went better. In 1974, Necati Oğuz have to expand his business to different sectors because of the country conditions. US have issued an embargo to Turkey because of the Cyprus Crisis and this event have become the incentive for expanding to the spare part sector when Necati Oğuz saw the opportunity of the supply problem of spare parts for construction machines. In 1980, son of Necati Oğuz, Ayhan Oğuz and the other son who had occupation in exhaust business Burhan Oğuz joined to Üstün-El Eksoz and the firm continued to grow. After the import period, with the help of international fairs, Üstün-El Eksoz expanded the business to abroad and for the new kinds of machines, firm has produced new exhausts and increased the product mix. With this remarkable growth, Üstün-El Eksoz has started to make exports to the abroad and have begun the corporatization period. In 1996 Necati Oğuz, Ayhan Oğuz and Burhan Oğuz created the Üstün-El Eksoz Ltd. Corporation as a partners.
