It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Makine Mühendisliği Fakültesi mezunu Hüseyin Cahit Aral, 1983-87 yılları arasında Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nde Sanayi ve Ticaret Bakanlığı görevini üstlenmiş önemli bir Türk siyasetçisidir. Hüseyin Cahit Aral bu görevinin dışında Türk sanayisi ve mühendisliğine çeşitli katkılarda bulunmuştur. Bu makalede, kendisinin bakanlık görevi boyunca yaptığı işlerin gazeteler aracılığıyla halk üzerinde bıraktığı etki ve çeşitli devlet belgelerinin kullanımı ile yaptığı icraatlar incelenecektir. Kendisinin kurduğu ve ailesi tarafından yönetimleri devralınan fabrikalar hakkında detaylı bir inceleme yapılacaktır. Kendisinin görev döneminde gerçekleşen Çernobil Faciası ve Cahit Aral’ın bu olay üzerine aldığı tutum incelenecek ve halkın üzerinde bıraktığı etki araştırılacaktır.Hüseyin Cahit Aral, a graduate of Istanbul Technical University's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, is an important Turkish politician who served as the Minister of Industry and Trade in the Republic of Turkey between 1983 and 1987. In addition to his ministerial duties, Hüseyin Cahit Aral has made various contributions to Turkish industry and engineering. In this article, the impact of his work during his tenure as minister on the public through newspapers and his actions using various government documents will be examined. A detailed examination will be made of the factories he established and those that were taken over by his family.
