It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Yapılan araştırmada, hâlihazırda Üniversitede akademisyen olarak yer alan, eski rektör Prof. Dr. Eyüp Ertuğrul Karsak ile yapılan röportajdan yararlanılmış, alınan bilgiler bir sözlü tarih çalışması olarak kullanılıp araştırma geliştirilmiştir. Bu makalede, Galatasaray Üniversitesinin 1992’de kuruluşundan bu yana izlediği yol ve Karsak’ın bireysel tecrübeleri ışığında Türkiye - Fransa ilişkileri ile alatasaray Üniversitesinin bağı, Galatasaray camiasının Galatasaray Üniversitesi’ne yaklaşımı ve Fransızca dilinin okula etkileri incelenmektedir.In this research, the establishment period of Galatasaray University, international agreements, general education system, values of the University, and political ties between Turkey and France are examined. It is aimed to tell the history of the university. In the research, the interview with the former rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Ertuğrul Karsak, who is currently an academician at the University, was used as an oral history study, and the research was eveloped in line with the information received.
