Çetin, A. Enis2016-02-082016-02-0819930165-1684http://hdl.handle.net/11693/26070In this paper, a new multiresolution wavelet representation for two-dimensional signals is described. This wavelet representation is based on a nonrectangular decomposition of the frequency domain. The decomposition can be implemented by a digital filter bank. The application of the new representation to the coding of quincunx and rectangularly sampled images is considered and simulation examples are presented.EnglishImage codingSubband decompositionWaveletsFrequency domain analysisImage analysisImage codingImage processingMathematical modelsMathematical transformationsSamplingSignal encodingSignal filtering and predictionDigital filter bankMultiresolution nonrectangular wavelet representationQuincunx codingSubband decompositionTwo dimensional signalsWaveletsSignal processingA multiresolution nonrectangular wavelet representation for two-dimensional signalsArticle10.1016/0165-1684(93)90006-V
