It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. While there have been many reports and research into its economic consequences both during and after the disaster, the current literature seems scattered. It does not provide a comprehensive report on the matter, with many works focused on one or two isolated factors rather than a wide variety of economic consequences that stemmed from the event. This paper will offer a more holistic coverage of this horrendous event in hopes of better understanding the economic ramifications in its totality by examining and synthesizing both local and international sources.1999 Marmara Depremi, binlerce insanın geçim kaynakları üzerinde ağır sonuçlar doğurmuş ve Türkiye ekonomisini önemli ölçüde etkilemiştir.
