Illusionism can be defined as misunderstanding or the art of using certain techniques to deceive people by showing an object as different than what it is. Even if first appearance dated earlier, the art of illusionism had started to be accepted in the 19th century, with the works of American Illusionist Harry Houdini. Since the eulogy show existed in Ottoman culture, it was not so hard for Turkey to adopt the art of illusionism and make it popular. Zati Sungur made great contributions to illusionism in Turkey and had a great influence on that manner. After his passing away, his mentee, Sermet Erkin took over the control, became one of the first representatives of modern illusionism in Turkey and made illusionism what it is today.41 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Modern illüzyonSermet ErkinZati SungurMandrakeSihirbazOrta oyunuGeleneksel Türk TiyatrosuModern illusionMagicianTraditional Turkish TheaterSermet Erkin ve Türkiye’de illüzyon sanatının tarihçesiStudent ProjectSPB3390
