It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Dünya’nın pek çok farklı bölgesinde sanat ile insan hakları konusu bağdaşmaktadır. İnsan hakları konusuna değinilirken en çok kullanılan sanat dallarından bir tanesi de heykelcilik olmuştur. Dünya’da olduğu gibi Türkiye’de aynı şekilde bu sanat dalı üzerinden insan hakları konusuna pek çok kez değinilmiştir. Türk heykelcilik sanatının önemli bir parçası olan Ankara İnsan Hakları Anıtı, aynı zamanda Türkiye’de tartışmalara neden olan insan hakları konusunda da insanların sıkça bahsettiği bir yapı olarak yer etmiştir. İnsan haklarını temsil eden diğer örneklerde de olduğu gibi, bu anıtın da yapılış amacı halka bir mesaj vermek olmuştur. Eserin yaratıcısı Metin Yurdanur, insan haklarının önemi konusundaki güçlü hislerini bu şekilde ifade etmiştir. İnsan Hakları Anıtı tanık olduğu tarih açısından Ankara’nın insanlarının değer verdiği ve gün geçtikçe benimsediği bir anıt haline gelmiştir. Bu birleştirici özelliği sayesinde tarihi boyunca birçok protestonun başlangıç noktası olmuş ve halka ilham vermiştir.In many different regions of the world, art and human rights are compatible in the same sense. Sculpture Art has been one of the most used branches of art when dealing with the issue of human rights. As in the world, human rights issue has been mentioned many times in Turkey through this branch of art. Ankara Human Rights Monument, an essential part of Turkish sculpture art, has also been mentioned by people frequently when discussing human rights, which is a problematic topic in Turkey. As with other examples representing human rights, the purpose of this monument was to give a message to the public. This is how the artist, Metin Yurdanur, expressed his feelings about the importance of human rights. The Human Rights Monument has become a valuable part of Ankara, and it witnessed Turkey's human rights process.
