It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 19-20).Erzurum düğünleri, bazıları kendine has bazıları ise yörede bulunan illerin düğünleri ile ortak olan pek çok geleneğe sahiptir. Bu gelenekler, Erzurum düğünlerini diğer düğünlerden farklı kılarken aynı zamanda eskiden beri var olan adetlerin de varlığını ve değerini hala korumasını sağlar. İnsanların geleneklere verdikleri önem nedeniyle Erzurum’daki düğünler fazlasıyla yoğun, tempolu, bazen de yorucu olsa da her zaman eğlenceli geçer çünkü çoğu insan düğün sürecinde hemen hemen tüm gelenekleri yaşatmaya ve uygulamaya çalışır. Gelin ve damadın nişanındaki, gelinin kına gecesindeki, damadın kısır gecesindeki ve son olarak düğündeki gelenekler Türk kültürüne de zenginlik katar. Dolayısıyla Erzurum düğünlerinin ve bu süreçte uygulanan geleneklerin değeri ve önemi göz ardı edilemez.Erzurum weddings have many traditions, some of them being unique and some of them being common with the weddings of other provinces in the region. While these traditions make Erzurum weddings differ from the other weddings, they also ensure that the old traditions in the province still preserve their existence and value. Due to the importance people give to traditions, weddings in Erzurum are very busy, paced and sometimes tiring but always fun, because most people try to keep and apply almost all traditions during the wedding process. The traditions of the bride and groom's engagement, the bride's henna night, the groom's barren night and finally the wedding add to the richness of Turkish culture.
