It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 17-18).Bu makale, 1974’de Kıbrıs’ta gerçekleşen Kıbrıs Barış Harekatı’nın tarihçesini, harekatta Türk Hava Kuvvetleri’nin rolünü ve harekatın başarılı sonuçlanmasında etkili bir rol oynayan Bandırma Hava Üssü’nü çalışacaktır. Kıbrıs, günümüzdeki durumuna ulaşana kadar birçok devletin himayesi altına girmiştir. Kıbrıs Barış Harekatı’nda, Kıbrıs’ın bir ada ülkesi olması nedeniyle hava kuvvetleri önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Bu çalışmada da 1974 Kıbrıs Barış Harekatı’nda Türk Hava Kuvvetleri’nin, harekat sırasında sağladığı başarılara ve bu harekatta kritik bir yere sahip olan Bandırma Hava Üssü’nün rolüne yer verilecektir.This article will discuss the background of the Cyprus Peace Operation, which took place in 1974 in Cyprus, the role played by the Turkish Air Force, and how the operation succeeded through the use of Bandırma Air Base. Cyprus has been under the control of many states throughout history. This situation has affected its demographic structure and heightened tensions among its inhabitants. The inability to reduce these tensions and ensure safety in Cyprus led to the necessity of the Cyprus Peace Operation in 1974. Since Cyprus is an island, the air force played a crucial role.
