It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Çarşı olarak kullanıldığı süre boyunca satılan ürünlerin, dönemsel olarak halkın taleplerine göre nasıl değişiklikler gösterdiği ele alınacaktır. Ayrıca günümüzdeki işlevinin Ankara’nın kültürel mirasına katkısı açısından uygunluğu, dönemin ve günümüzün gazete haberleri, yapılan röportajlar ve akademik kaynaklar neticesinde tartışılacaktır. Müze olarak kullanılması veya orijinal hali olan han/otel şeklinde restore edilmesi gerektiğine dair düşünceler de anlatılacaktır. Bu inceleme Sulu Han’ın değerinin daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi ve Ankara’nın kültürel mirasının değerli bir parçasının kitlelere doğru aktarılabilmesi açısından gereklidir.This article will discuss the fire and subsequent processes experienced by Sulu Han, which provided accommodation services as Hasan Pasha Han in the early 1500s and was later converted into a bazaar. After mentioning the fire it suffered in 1929, its use as a bazaar as a result of its restoration in 1983 will be examined. It will also discuss how the products sold change periodically according to the demands of the public, during Sulu Han is used as a bazaar. In addition, the appropriateness of its current function in terms of its contribution to the cultural heritage of Ankara will be discussed based on newspaper reports from the period and today, interviews, and academic sources. The ideas on whether it should be used as a museum or restored to its original state as an inn/hotel will also be discussed.
