It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 48-52).Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluşundan sonra, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, yeni cumhuriyetin refahını sağlamak için birçok reform yapmıştır. Bunların bazıları Türk kadınının toplumsal statüsünü yükseltmeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu makalede, Türk kadınının dünyadaki temsili ele alınacak ve sözkonusu reformların uluslararası alandaki yansımaları incelenecektir. Bununla beraber, Türk kadınının Osmanlı ve cumhuriyet dönemlerindeki yaşantısı karşılaştırılacak ve reformların sosyal yaşamda yarattığı değişiklikler gösterilecektir.After the formation of the Turkish Republic, its founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk implement edvarious reforms to ensure the prosperity of the new Republic. Amongst these were reforms focused on elevating the status of the Turkish women. This paper will primarily focus on western perceptions about the modern Turkish woman as well as reactions in the international sphere.
