The migration waves fueled by the Balkan Wars and the First World War caused a migration movement between Turkey and Bulgaria. The Öztürk family is one of the thousands of families who have migrated to Turkey as a result of this migration wave. The family lived in Karadilli Village of Eskicuma region and immigrated toIstanbul on May 4, 1974 as a result of the ban of speaking Turkish. Although family members, at first, had difficulties in adapting to the culture, the dialect and finding shelter, they quickly got used to life in Turkey after building their house and after creating a new life. They have seen that daily life in Istanbul, especially job opportunities, were better than in Bulgaria. They continued their lives in Güneşli District of Bağcılar neighborhood, where many Bulgarian immigrants lived like themselves.59 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/BalkanlarAkrabalıkSiyasi karışıklıklarAsimilasyonThe BalkansKinshipPolitical confusionAssimilationÖztürk ailesinin Bulgaristan'dan göçüStudent ProjectSPB4173
