Even though the exact date of its establishment is unknown, 1924İstanbul, which is the oldest living restaurant in Turkey, was established by the Russian refugees who escaped from the Bolshevik Revolution in the early 1920s. Since its establishment the restaurant kept the world cuisine, especially the Slavic cuisine, alive in İstanbul. 1924İstanbul also served various important names in its history like Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, White Russian princesses, and Franz Von Papel.
