It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi kimya mühendisliği bölümünden mezun olan Erdoğmuş’un, gül yağını sentetik üretimini yapmayı amaçlaması ve bunun üzerinde çalışıp akabinde Erdoğmuş Parfüm Sanayi (EPS)’yi kuruşu kendisinin yükselişinde kilit bir rol oynamıştır.Bu süreci daha iyi açıklayabilmek adına o dönemde Türkiye’nin koku sanayisindeki yeri, Isparta’nın o dönemdeki önemi ve kısa tarihi açıklanmıştır. Hüseyin Erdoğmuş’un kendisiyle ile görüşülmüş ve yapılan görüşmeler ile araştırmalar ışığında gençliği,meslek hayatı, Erdoğmuş Parfüm Sanayi’yi kuruşu, Türk koku sanayisine yaptığı katkılar anlatılmıştır.In this article, the process of how Hüseyin Erdoğmuş, who grew up in Isparta surrounded by rose oil and rose essence from a young age, became one of Turkey's leading perfumers over time, is examined. Erdoğmuş, who graduated from the chemical engineering department of Middle East Technical University, aimed to produce rose oil synthetically, and working on this goal, he established Erdoğmuş Perfume Industry (EPS), which played a key role in his rise.To better explain this process, the article provides information on Turkey's position in the fragrance industry at that time, the importance of Isparta at that time, and a brief history.
