Tutucu kitleler tarafın- dan Osmanlı kültürünün yansıtılış biçimi onaylanmaz iken sanat ile ilgilenen kesim, Türk ba- lesinin gelişimi için önemli bir yeri olduğunu savunmuştur.Hürrem Sultan, a vital step for the progression of Turkish ballets which is acknowledged as the very first inclusive Turkish ballet production, is significant in terms of how it has contrib- uted greatly to the formation of a Turkish ballet culture while simultaneously taking inspiration from the Ottoman heritage. It has been staged by Nevit Kodallı and Oytun Turfanda, who have adapted it from a play of Orhan Asena, in order to bring innovation to Turkish ballets. Although many ballets which were also inspired by Ottoman culture had been produced before, Hürrem Sultan became prominent with its authenticity and its manner of representing Ottoman culture. Due to its historical context, it has caused opposing reactions to emerge among the Turkish society who had recently been acquainted with ballets. As the conservative masses criticized and disapproved of the ballet’s manner of representing Ottoman culture, the populace with an interest in arts defended that it was significant for the progression of arts in Turkey.13 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Hürrem SultanBaleOsmanlıTürkBesteÖzgünBalletOttomanTurkishCompositionOriginalİlk özgün Türk bale yapıtı: Hürrem SultanStudent ProjectSPB3914
