It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 10).Bu makalede Isaac Bliss’ten ve 19. Yüzyılda Osmanlı İmparatorluğu sınırları içerisinde yürüttüğü misyonerlik çalışmasından söz edilmektedir. Aynı zamanda Isaac Bliss’in “American Bible Society” ile işbirliği içerisinde gerçekleştirdiği farkındalık yaratma ve Hristiyanlık’ı Türkiye ve diğer Yakın Doğu ülkelerinde yayma çabasından detaylıca bahsetmektedir. “Bible House” kuruluşlarının kurulması, İncil’in çevirilmesi ve basılması, Müslümanlar arasında bir farkındalık yaratılması ve Hristiyanlık inancı, bu makalenin ana konuları arasında yer almaktadır.This paper mentions Isaac Bliss and missionary work he did in the Ottoman Empire in the 19th Century. The paper also explains in detail the work he did with the American Bible Society in creating awareness and the spreading of Christianity in Turkey and other states in the Near East.
